Sobre una nueva moneda de Juliano y la fecha de su conversión definitiva al paganismo

Résumé


En el presente trabajo se analiza una moneda acuñada en Tesalónica en nombre de Juliano el Apóstata que surgió a la luz en una subasta del año 2011 y que, hasta ese momento, era inédita. Esta pieza puede aportar informaciones importantes respecto de uno de los puntos más debatidos de la biografía de este emperador. Precisamente, el objetivo del presente trabajo es demostrar que esta nueva moneda puede contribuir a clarificar el debate en torno al momento preciso en que Juliano dejó crecer su barba y tomó su decisión definitiva por el restablecimiento del paganismo.
