Une légende énigmatique pour un douzain mal nommé et d’attribution controversée

Gilbert Grandis

Résumé

The "coin with a crown", object of this study (cf. Fig. 1) was identified as a White
Douzain struck in 1349 by the mint of Pont dřAin, and attributed to the Earl of Savoy Amédée VI.
Named White Douzain with a crown by the main numismatists who puplished her, we shall see that
it nevertheless has no characteristics of a White Douzain and that it presents an enigmatic legend on
his reverse.
